Military-industrial Aluminum Alloy 6151

The 6151 alloy was born in the United States in the 1930s. Its prototype alloy 6051 was listed as a special alloy by American aluminum association on December 12, 1963. All but 6351A are American alloys. This kind of alloy is widely used in military weapon, which is used to manufacture crankcase forgings and rolling rings, mine and machine forgings. All parts requiring good forging performance, high strength and good corrosion resistance can be processed by this alloy. Before 1954, it was called 51S in the United States, and in 1954 it was called 6151 alloy.

Chemical composition

The chemical composition of type 6151 alloy is shown in table 1. In terms of composition, the Si content of type 6951 alloy is relatively low, which is only equal to about 35% of other alloys. Therefore, its strength performance is supposed to be relatively low, but it contains 0.15% -- 0.40%Cu.

Mechanical properties of

The lower mechanical properties of 6151 alloy are shown in table 2, with the mark distance of sample 50mm or 4d (d is the diameter of sample). Type 6151 alloy without low temperature brittleness and can be used for processing parts at very low temperatures, 25 ℃ when the tensile strength of the Rm = 330 n/was, yield strength Rp0.2 = 298 n/was, elongation A = 17%, the temperature drops to 200 ℃, the various performance rose across the board, respectively, 395 n, 345 n/was/was 20%. The working temperature of 6151 alloy should not exceed 120 ℃.

Physical properties of

At 20 ℃ 6151 alloy density of 2700 kg/m3; The liquidus temperature of 649 ℃, the solidus temperature 588 ℃, - 50 ℃, 20 ℃, the average linear expansion coefficient of 21.8 mu m/(m k), 20 ℃, 100 ℃ average linear expansion coefficient of 23.0 mu m/(m k), 20 ℃, 200 ℃ average linear expansion coefficient of 24.1 mu m/(m k), 20 ℃, 300 ℃ average linear expansion coefficient of 25.0 mu m/(m k).

20 ℃ 6151 alloy such as bulk conductivity: O state material 54% IACS, T4 status of 42% IACS, 45% IACS T6 state; At 20 ℃ resistivity: 32 n O state Ω m., T4 status of 41 n Ω m., T6 state of 38 n Ω m.; The heat capacity of the 20 ℃ when 895 j/(kg · K); Thermal conductivity of 20 ℃ : O state materials of 205 w/(m, k), T4 status of 163 w/(m, k); The state of T6 is 175W/ (m·k).

Type 6154 alloy at 25 ℃ containing 53 + 3 gh2o2 gnacl/L/L in the solution, to 0.1 N calomel electrode potential is 0.83 V.

Process characteristics

Type 6151 alloy 413 ℃ annealing mean/(2 h, 3 h), with no more than 27 ℃ / h with furnace cooling cooling speed to 260 ℃, and then empty out cold. Solid solution treatment temperature (510 ℃ -- 525 ℃) / 4 min, room temperature water quenching, large forgings (65 ℃ -- 100 ℃ quenching in water. Artificial aging specification (165 ℃ -- 175 ℃)/(8 h, 12 h). Hot working temperature 260 ℃ -- 480 ℃.
